This Privacy Policy explains what information pzfans.com and closely related Project Zomboid Fans services process when you visit the site, how that information is used, and what choices you have. It reflects how the site works today: public guides, maps, and tools—not user accounts or member uploads.

1. Who we are and what this covers

pzfans.com is a fan site for the game Project Zomboid. We publish articles, interactive maps, wiki-style pages, and browser tools. This policy covers browsing and use of pzfans.com and information processed so those pages work, measure traffic, and show advertising.

Linked services on related domains—such as serverlist.pzfans.com and mapreq.pzfans.com— may have their own interfaces and rules. When you leave pzfans.com for a third-party site (for example Steam Workshop, GitHub, or Buy Me a Coffee), that site’s privacy policy applies.

2. What we do not collect through accounts or uploads

The current site does not offer account registration, login, user profiles, or an in-site file upload feature for visitors. You do not need to create an account to read guides or use maps and tools. If those features are added later, this policy will be updated before they go live.

3. Information we process

3.1 Technical and request data

Like most websites, when you open a page our servers and infrastructure receive standard request information. That typically includes your IP address, browser and device type, requested URL, referrer, date/time, and response status. This data is used to deliver pages, maintain security, diagnose errors, and operate the service.

When traffic is routed through Cloudflare, we may also receive Cloudflare request headers such as CF-IPCountry (a country or region code). The site can use that value for region-aware layout (for example advertising slots). Your browser’s Accept-Language header may be used to pick a default interface language when you have not set a language preference.

3.2 Cookies we set

pzfans.com sets first-party cookies for preferences and functionality:

3.3 Local storage in your browser

Some pages store data only on your device via localStorage (and similar browser storage). That data stays in your browser unless you clear site data. Examples include:

• Theme (theme): light or dark appearance for the site chrome.
• Map tools: custom points of interest and map UI state you create locally.
• Interactive tools: checklist progress, character planner saves, language or panel state on certain guides and tools.

We do not treat local storage as a server-side profile. Clearing site data for pzfans.com removes these items from that browser.

3.4 Information you send us deliberately

If you email us or use a feedback form on a related service, we receive whatever you include (message text, email address, and any attachments you choose to send). We use that only to respond and improve the site.

4. Analytics and advertising

4.1 Google Analytics

Site pages load Google Analytics (gtag.js) with measurement ID G-6RRB65PEQR. 4.2 Ezoic and display advertising

The site includes Ezoic ad placeholders so advertising can be shown in designated slots (for example top of page, mid-content, bottom, in-feed, and sidebar). Ezoic and its advertising partners may use cookies, device identifiers, and request data to deliver, measure, and personalize ads. Advertising configuration may also reference Google AdSense / Google advertising scripts. When those scripts are active, Google’s advertising and privacy terms apply in addition to this policy.

5. Why we process information

• Measure traffic and improve content and performance
• Show advertising that helps fund the site

• Protect the service against abuse and technical failures

Where a legal basis is required under applicable law, we rely on one or more of: operating the service you request (contract/necessity of providing the site), legitimate interests in running a secure and useful fan site and measuring usage, and consent where required for non-essential cookies or personalized advertising.

6. Sharing and processors

We do not sell your personal information as a standalone product. Information is shared only as needed with infrastructure and service providers that help run the site, including:

• Hosting and network providers that deliver the website

• Server and security logs are kept only as long as needed for operations, security, and troubleshooting, then rotated or deleted under normal operational practice.
• Email/feedback is kept as long as needed to handle your request and maintain a reasonable support history.
• Analytics and ad data follow the retention settings of Google, Ezoic, and related partners.

8. Your choices and rights

• Cookies: You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the lang cookie may reset language each visit; blocking third-party cookies may limit analytics and ads.
• Local storage: Clear site data for pzfans.com to remove theme, checklist, planner, and local map marks.
• Analytics / ads: Use browser controls, industry opt-outs where available (for example Google’s ad settings), and any consent banner or preference center shown by Ezoic or similar partners.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to a small fan site (HTTPS delivery, access controls on infrastructure, and standard server hygiene). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Please avoid sending passwords or sensitive personal data by email.

We may update this Privacy Policy when the site’s features or legal requirements change. The Last updated date at the top of this page will change when we do. For material changes, we may also add a short notice on the site. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy, to the extent permitted by law.
